PMJJBY Premium Amount Details

The cover under PMJJBY is only for one year from the debit of the first premium. The period is from June 1 to May 31, and the policy is renewed by auto-debit of premium from the policyholder’s account from July 1 to July 31.

If anyone joins the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana scheme in between the said periods, then the premium on a pro-rata basis is as follows:

Enrolment PeriodPremium Amount
June, July, and AugustRs. 436

Why are Banks pressuring you to Join PMJJBY?

pradhan mantri jeevan jyoti bima yojana

The Indian government has given targets to financial institutions, i.e., all public sector banks and private banks, post offices, and LIC, to cover the maximum population under the PMJJBY (Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana).

This scheme offers Rs. 2 lakhs of life insurance, and the annual premium is also very low, so it is very useful for middle-class and poor individuals.

As a result, banks encouraged both new and existing account holders to participate in this scheme. Sometimes, under pressure, they enrolled their account holders in this scheme without their consent.

How can you remove the PMJJBY from your Savings Account?

If you are enrolled in this scheme without your consent, you can easily opt-out. Just follow these simple steps to opt yourself out of this scheme.
