How many Indians visited Maldives in COVID-19?
In 2021 and 2022, India remained a top market for tourist arrivals in Maldives. Over 2.91 lakh and 2.41 lakh Indian tourists visited during these years, despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In fact, India held a significant market share of 23% and 14% respectively in those years. Last year, even with around 1.915 lakh tourist arrivals, India continued to be an important source of visitors for Maldives.
