In this article, we will discuss the best and worst credit cards for the year 2023.

We will use a tier system to categorize the cards. Please note that this is all subjective depending on your own spending habits and this is all my own personal opinion.

You can check out the links to any one of these cards down below in the description which also supports this channel as well.

S Tier

  • No cards have been categorized as S Tier.

A Tier

  • Chase Freedom Flex Card: This card has no annual fee, offers a decent welcome bonus, 15 month no interest and no balance transfer fees, and five percent rotating categories. When paired with the chase sapphire preferred or even the chase sapphire reserve, it becomes a great card.
  • Amex Platinum Card: This is another great card that offers a lot of benefits. If you do utilize the lounges, amex fine hotel resorts, or even just on a lucky day if you’re able to book the right trip, it comes in handy. However, if you’re someone who doesn’t travel as much, it could become like a coupon dumpster card.

B Tier

  • Amex Gold Card: This card offers a decent welcome bonus, $120 here and $120 there, and a $100 experience credit to use during the hotel collection booking. You also get forex back on dining and a US supermarket. However, the annual fee is a bit high at $250.
  • Amex Blue Business Cash Card: This is a solid keeper card within your wallet since it has no annual fee, but the welcome bonus offer could be a bit more competitive.
  • Built Mastercard: This is an underrated card that came up this year. If you rent, use this card to pay your rent and use those points to take whatever trip you want. It has no annual fee and offers great marketing efforts and customer service.
  • Capital One Venture X Card: This is one of the most underrated premium luxury travel credit cards that offer great return on value. However, the annual fee is a bit high.

C Tier

  • Capital One Quicksilver: This card is not a terrible card if you have a lot of credit card debt or if you’re struggling with something, but it’s not the best card out there.
  • Capital One Savor One Card: This is one of the best no annual fee cards that exist right now. It gives you 10% back on Uber and a free Uber membership as well for you to utilize if you do buy a lot of takeout.

D Tier

  • No cards have been categorized as D Tier.

F Tier

  • Amex Centurion Card: This card is just for the flex value and the concierge is amazing, but the annual fee of $15,000 might not be worth it.
